My name is Ruthann Cowell.  I grew up on a farm in Roanoke, IL, and my fondest memories are of the time I spent in the kitchen with my mom and sister. My grandmother started teaching me to decorate cakes when I was 8 years old.  She always said my writing on the cakes was better than hers...I imagine that was to build my confidence.  It worked!  Now I have my own business, Divine Cakes, and I try to live up to that name with every cake I make.

Philosophy:
Cake - If it's worth making, it's worth making from scratch!
Decoration - Just as every person is unique, so every cake should be unique.

Every order starts with a great cake:
Every cake is made fresh, never frozen,  using real butter, fresh eggs, real vanilla and whole milk.  The ganache is made with heavy cream, real butter and good quality chocolate.

Client participation:
Your job is to imagine the perfect cake for the person or the occasion.  Tell me the details and my job is to create something very special for you!

Professionalism:
I will make your cake as I would for my own family.  I will give nothing less, and you should expect nothing less.

My Goal:

I'm so lucky:
My job, every day, is to do something I would do for free.  The more time I put into my job, the more I learn, the better job I do and the more fun I have!  Who could ask for anything more?
